Joint Advisory Committee

Section 83(3) of the Labour Relations Code provides that the Minister of Labour must appoint a community based joint advisory committee consisting of two representatives each of trade unions, employers and arbitrators, and a chair. The director chairs the committee.

The JAC must advise the director on the training and education of arbitrators and settlement officers, on research and publication of information concerning labour arbitration and on the establishment and maintenance of a register of arbitrators.
