The Board holds hearings by video, teleconference, or in person. Unless otherwise specified, the hearings on the Hearing Schedule page are being held by video or teleconference. If you would like to attend a hearing, email the Registrar to request the meeting details. In your email, include the case number or the hearing you would like to attend.
The Labour Relations Board hearing schedule includes hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
Board hearings are generally open to the public. However, the Vice-Chair holding the hearing may decide to close the hearing, or a portion of it, to the public. A mediation, settlement conference, or informal meeting is not open to the public.
How the Board conducts hearings
While hearing schedules are regularly updated, hearing dates and/or times can change at the last minute. Before you come to watch a hearing, you can contact the Board to make sure it is going ahead as scheduled.
Only the parties participating in the hearing can speak at a hearing before the Board or have access to documents. If you are not a party and believe you should be allowed to participate in the hearing, you must apply to the Board for standing to participate.
The Vice-Chair controls the hearing process. If any person is disruptive during a hearing, the Vice-Chair may require that person to leave or may stop the hearing.
Hearings are generally not recorded, and no one is permitted to record a hearing, or any part of it, without asking for and receiving the permission of the Vice-Chair.
